Where are the Monsters?

You've got to be careful, that's all I've got to say.

When you're least expecting them, they appear.

When you want to find them, they are nowhere to be found.

They may come from distant planets where enormous, flightless birds keep humans as pets, or places as close as the sullen shadows of your own back yard. They may lurk like 'gators under stilt houses in coastal Georgia, or in the eyes of a man who refuses to see the evil in the mirror.

You've got to be careful, that's all I've got to say.

I'm Back!

I've been excruciatingly busy for, oh, a couple of years now (a deployment, followed by my current attendance at Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, KS.) I want to get this blog up and running again.

I haven't been completely idle. Here are a few of my stories currently available online:
Deep, Dark Blue on Sniplits.com
A Little Midnight Reading on Toad's Corner
Penance on Short Story America
The Silence on Fiction365

Let's see, what's next...perhaps an epic struggle between werewolf Clauswitz and vampire Jomini for the soul of Banaparte? (A little CGSC humore there.)

Cheers y'all,
Jess
